Eco Energy International has received the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label, rewarding profitable solutions that protect the environment.
The Base Facilitated Reformation (BFR) technology by Eco Energy International has been awarded the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” label following an independent expert assessment based on verified standards. By being awarded this label, Eco Energy International has contributed to the #1000solutions challenge, an initiative by the Solar Impulse Foundation to select solutions that meet high standards in profitability and sustainability.
To receive the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label, Eco Energy International was thoroughly assessed by a pool of independent experts according to five criteria covering the three main topics of feasibility, environmental impact, and profitability. All labeled solutions are part of the #1000solutions portfolio, which will be presented to decision-makers in business and government by Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation.
About Eco Energy International & The Base Facilitated Reformation (BFR) Technology:
Eco Energy International, LLC (EEI) is a spinoff of Energy Technologies, Inc (ETI). ETI has been supplying energy systems products to the defense, petrochemical, and communications industries for the past 28 years. As part of their research & development, EEI they developed fuel cell and hydrogen production technologies covered by 54 US and International Patents. They developed a new breakthrough technology called Base Facilitated Reformation (BFR). This process economically converts over 80% of the municipal and agricultural organic waste (that typically goes to landfills) into clean, renewable, and profitable energy, significantly reducing the need for landfills.
Since all of the organic materials are converted, this revolutionary technology eliminates the production of carbon dioxide and methane gases typically associated with landfills. This technology can produce hydrogen, syngas, and renewable diesel anywhere from multiple locally available feedstocks. The technology is modular and scalable, not requiring large scale, stationary facilities to be economical. The process equipment can be containerized to be readily deployable to the field and scaled to meet the onsite demand. With 1700 existing landfills and 2.1 million farms scattered across the US alone, these hydrogen production facilities can be spotted strategically to form a hydrogen infrastructure with minimal transportation costs.
About the Solar Impulse Foundation and #1000solutions Initiative:
The Solar Impulse Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the implementation of clean and profitable solutions. Moreover, the Foundation is helping decision-makers in businesses and governments achieve their environmental targets and adopt more ambitious energy policies, which are necessary to pull these solutions to market. The Solar Impulse Foundation was created as a way to carry the success of the first solar-powered flight around the world even further.
The aim of this initiative is to encourage the adoption of more ambitious environmental targets and fast-track the implementation of these solutions on a large scale. The “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” label is one of the first labels for positive impact businesses, bringing together the protection of the environment and financial viability. The label is attributed following an assessment performed by external independent experts. In collaboration with renowned institutions, solutions applying for the label must go through a neutral methodology based on verified standards. The “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” label serves as an award for clean and profitable solutions.
